I was in class when a lecturer asked, do you think it's fair that the rich give some of its money to the poor?
Do you think it's fair that the poor received that little amount of money? To survive the daily life and what not?
I was left quiet finding for words to say.
He then resumed, as a Malaysian we're lucky that most of the people are consist of the middle class. We can managed to keep our economy sustainable. Unlike India or Indonesia, where the rich are really rich and the poor are too poor.
During the rest of the period he mumbles on his political opinion towards our government and the world. He then came back to his question. "Do you think it's fair that the rich give its money to the poor?"
I raised my hand and said,
First of all, don't question fairness, when you, yourself are being bloody biased. Yes, it is fair that the rich are wilingly giving a fair share of their money to the poor. I mean what harm can it do? They'll only lose a ringgit or two.
And yes, it's fair that the poor received a few of their money because there's a saying that says a little goes a long way. See, it might help lessen the burden that they already have.
But don't you think that it isn't fair for the middle class like myself? They are stuck in the middle. Ofcourse they have money to donate, but what happened when they don't have money by the middle of the month. Who's gonna help them? Surely the poor are not able to help and surely the rich will say, "oh, you're not poor!"
How will they live their lives?
