Mine

That horrible feeling of not being wanted… or needed.
I think I deserve this.
After everything I secretly did behind your back, maybe this is God’s way of getting back at me.
Maybe I deserve to be treated like I’m not needed — even though it hurts me to the very core.

When we first met, I thought you were crazy.
How could a guy like you fall so madly in love with me after just three dates?
It felt almost too good to be true.
There were so many things you did back then that ticked me off,
but I brushed them aside.
I told myself to see you differently.

And somehow… I started to fall in love again.

Now, my heart aches.
Tears keep streaming down my face.
That last message you sent—
it shattered me.

It made me wonder,
how could someone like you ever fall in love with a girl like me?
I don’t deserve you.
I’m not good enough for you.
I’ll never be the girl of your dreams.
You never introduced me to your mom.
Your dad doesn’t seem to like me.
And your stepmom never cared to know me.

Honestly, what do I even have to offer you?
I don’t have the looks or the brains like your so-called “pet sisters.”
I’m nothing compared to them.
But still, I tried—so damn hard—to impress you.

And yet, I keep looking for you.
I’m terrified of losing you.
Terrified of not being loved by you.
Afraid of rejection—especially from the one person I love and miss the most.
From the guy who doesn’t seem to care about me anymore.

If only I could ignore you.
If only my ego was strong enough to stop caring.
If only I hadn’t fallen in love with you.

Why can’t you put in the same effort to love me, too?
